Parma president Tommaso Ghirardi has ruled out a January move for Milan striker Filippo Inzaghi.

Inzaghi is the latest in a long line of players to have been linked with the high-flying Ducali. The former Juventus and Atalanta hitman is out of contract in June and with no sign of an extension, he has been linked with a January exit.

Ghirardi rubs shoulders often with Inzaghi, fuelling speculation he was ready to offer him a role at the Ennio Tardini. However, the club premier has denied the suggestion. Ghirardi is keen to curb expectations of a spending spree.

"I am good friends with Inzaghi and I am always talking with him. However, he is a Milan player and will remain so," the chief told La Repubblica.

"We would be crazy to think about making transfers as we are fourth in the table. We will be giving space to younger players coming through instead."
